As president of Rodgers & Hammerstein, Ted Chapin has spearheaded many award-winning productions, including The King and I at Lincoln Center Theater, Rodgers + Hammerstein’s Cinderella, and The Sound of Music. His career began as an assistant for the Broadway productions of Follies, The Rothschilds, The Sunshine Boys, and The Unknown Soldier and His Wife. He has been a visiting lecturer at Yale, New York University, Belmont University, Lawrence University, and St. Catherine’s College in Oxford, and others. His book, Everything Was Possible: The Birth of the Musical Follies, was published in 2003. He serves on the board of The American Theatre Wing, Goodspeed Musicals, New Music USA, and New York City Center, where he was the chair of the Encores! Advisory committee from its inception. He hosts the PBS/NJTV series American Songbook at NJPAC.
