Laurence O’Keefe is a composer, lyricist, arranger, orchestrator, and writer for Broadway, movies, and television. Larry and his wife, Nell Benjamin, won the 2011 Olivier Award for Legally Blonde: The Musical, which ran nearly 3 years on the West End and toured the UK and Ireland. Blonde was nominated for seven Tony Awards, won Australia’s Helpmann Award for Best Musical, and received two US national tours and productions around the world.
Larry’s other shows include Heathers The Musical, which ran Off-Broadway in 2014, was nominated for several Drama Desk awards, and is now published by Samuel French; and Bat Boy: The Musical (Lucille Lortel and Outer Critics Circle Awards for Best Off-Broadway Musical), which has received 500+ productions worldwide. Other music and/or lyrics credits include Sarah, Plain And Tall; The Explorers' Club; Cam Jansen; The Mice.
A graduate of Harvard and USC's Thornton School Of Music, he has also composed for “The Daily Show", SyFy’s “Defiance”, Cirque Du Soleil, Disney Channel and PBS. Larry and Nell live in New York with their 3-year-old daughter/percussionist.
