Lonny Price most recently directed the stage and film versions of the New York Philharmonic’s productions of Stephen Sondheim’s Sweeney Todd and Company. He earned Emmys for his work directing Sondheim: The Birthday Concert, Sweeney Todd (with Patti LuPone and George Hearn), and Stephen Sondheim’s Passion. On Broadway he directed Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar & Grill, 110 in the Shade , ‘Master Harold’ … and the Boys; Sally Marr and Her Escorts (which he co- wrote); Urban Cowboy; and A Class Act (Tony nomination) for which he co-wrote the book with Linda Kline and starred. His first feature film, ‘Master Harold’ … and the Boys, (starring Freddie Highmore and Ving Rhames), received the 2011 Best Drama Award at the New York International Film and Video Festival, as well as Lonny receiving a Best Director of a Drama award.
