Shaina Taub
Shaina Taub is a songwriter and performer. Winner of a Jonathan Larson Grant and Ars Nova’s 2012 Composer-in-Residence, she wrote the music and lyrics for and co-stars in Bill Irwin and David Shiner’s Old Hats, opening at the Signature Theatre in February. She is writing a musical adaptation of Twelfth Night for the Public Theater, presented as part of their Public Works program at the Delacorte in 2016. Her musical, The Daughters, has been developed by CAP21 Theatre Company and the Yale Institute of Music Theatre. Audra McDonald performs Taub’s song, “Bear & Otter,” in concert. A songwriter for “Sesame Street,” she was featured in Lincoln Center’s American Songbook series this year. Her first full-length album, “Visitors” is now available.
