Tony Walton is a director/designer honored with 16 Tony Award nominations for his Broadway sets and costumes, including wins for Pippin, House of Blue Leaves, and Guys and Dolls. He also earned Academy Award nominations for “Mary Poppins,” “The Wiz,” and “Murder on the Orient Express,” and won for “All That Jazz.” Walton also received an Emmy Award for “Death of a Salesman.” His directing credits include the Irish Repertory Theatre’s productions of Wilde’s The Importance of Being Earnest; Coward’s After the Ball; and Shaw’s Major Barbara, The Devil’s Disciple, and Candida. Walton was elected to the Theatre Hall of Fame in 1991.
